Note: Installation must be performed by qualified personnel familiar with photovoltaic system composition, operating principles, and local standards. Damage caused by removing tamper-proof labels or improper installation is not covered under warranty.
1. Installation Tool Preparation
- 3# Hex Wrench: For removing wiring compartment door (included accessories)
- Phillips Screwdriver (PH2): For securing ground wire and mounting bracket (M6/M8 bolts)
- Ferrules Crimping Pliers: For crimping communication cable terminals
- 19mm Extended Socket Wrench: For DC +/- output cable connection (M12 nuts)
- AMC4 Terminal Crimping Pliers: For crimping MC4 input cable terminals
- Multimeter: For voltage measurement to ensure installation safety
- PV Terminal Wrench: For PV terminal disassembly (included accessories)
- Safety Equipment: Insulated shoes, gloves, and other personal protective equipment
2. Installation Methods
The product comes with a mounting bracket supporting three installation methods: hoop-style pole mounting, screw-style pole mounting, and screw-style bracket mounting. Choose a location with no direct sunlight or rain/snow exposure; if unavailable, build a sunshade. For wall mounting, use M8 expansion bolts based on wall load capacity.
- Hoop-style pole mounting: Secure the mounting plate to the pole with ≥2 hoops, then hang the controller onto the plate and fasten with 8 included screws on both sides.
- Screw-style pole mounting: Secure the bracket with 3 included M8x20 screws, then fasten the controller to the bracket with 8 included M8x20 screws on both sides.
- Screw-style bracket mounting: Secure the bracket with 4 included M8x20 screws, then fasten the controller to the bracket with 8 included M8x20 screws on both sides.
3. Electrical Connection Specifications
Before electrical connection, disconnect the DC circuit breakers of the inverter, battery side, and MPPT input main switch, and post warning signs. Confirm PV string open-circuit voltage does not exceed limits, label cable positive/negative poles, and prohibit live operation.
- Output Cable Connection: Connect the ground wire to the PE mark on the housing with a cable cross-section ≥35mm², using M8x20 combination screws. Route DC output cables through the bottom of the junction box, remove M12 nuts with an extended socket, crimp power terminals, and tighten with a torque of 30N.M.
- PV Input Cable Connection: Strip cables and crimp MC4 male/female terminals (distinguish positive/negative), then connect to the MPPT controller’s PV+/PV- terminals accordingly.
- RS485 Communication Cable Connection: The COM1 485 interface at the bottom supports single/multi-unit networking. Connect according to 485_A(+), GND, 485_B(-). Route cables through waterproof glands, crimp ferrules, and insert into corresponding ports. Use series connection for multiple units.
