Product Introduction
Independently R&D and manufactured by Imax (Shenzhen) Power Technology Co., Ltd., the Imax Wall-mounted Hybrid MPPT Controller is dedicated to DC-coupled PV storage system applications. It corely achieves dual improvement of photovoltaic power generation efficiency and energy storage charging efficiency, creating a DC-coupled grid-tied & off-grid PV storage system with “no power interruption even during grid outage”. The product supports multi-channel MPPT design to adapt to the multi-angle installation requirements of photovoltaic panels, and integrates multiple safety protections, intelligent heat dissipation and other functions. With IP66 protection grade and C5 anti-corrosion rating, it can be used in complex scenarios such as outdoor and coastal high-salt mist environments. The whole machine features compact design and easy installation, providing a cost-effective and highly reliable solution for PV storage systems.

Quick Installation Guide
The installation of this product must be completed by professional personnel. Operators must be familiar with the composition and working principle of photovoltaic power generation systems and relevant standards of the project location. Before installation, check the integrity of the equipment appearance and accessories. Damage caused by removing anti-tamper labels or non-standard installation is not covered by the warranty.
1. Preparation of Installation Tools
- 3# Hexagonal wrench: Disassembly and assembly of MPPT controller wiring compartment door panel (accessory included)
- Cross screwdriver (PH2): Fastening grounding and hanger (suitable for M6/M8 bolts)
- Tube terminal crimping pliers: Crimping communication wire terminals
- 19mm extended socket wrench: DC+/- output cable connection (suitable for M12 nuts)
- AMC4 terminal crimping pliers: Crimping MC4 input cable terminals
- Multimeter: Measuring voltage to ensure safe wiring installation
- PV terminal wrench: Disassembly and assembly of PV terminals (accessory included)
- Safety protective equipment: Insulated shoes, gloves and other construction labor protection supplies
2. Installation Methods
The product package is equipped with a hanger, supporting three installation methods: hoop pole-mounted, screw pole-mounted, screw hanger-mounted. Priority should be given to installation locations without direct sunlight, rain or snow accumulation; if not available, a sunshade can be built. For wall installation, M8 expansion screws must be prepared by yourself, selected according to wall load-bearing capacity.
- Hoop pole-mounted: Pass ≥2PCS hoops through the hoop installation holes on the back of the hanging plate and fasten tightly; hang the controller on the hanging plate from top to bottom and fasten both sides with 8PCS random screws.
- Screw pole-mounted: Fix the hanger with 3PCS M8x20 random screws; after hanging the controller on the plate, fasten both sides with 8PCS M8x20 random screws.
- Screw hanger-mounted: Fix the hanger with 4PCS M8x20 random screws; after hanging the controller on the plate, fasten both sides with 8PCS M8x20 random screws.
3. Electrical Connection Specifications
Before electrical connection, disconnect the DC circuit breaker on the inverter and battery side and the MPPT input main switch, and set up power-off warning signs; confirm that the open-circuit voltage of the photovoltaic string does not exceed the limit value, mark the positive and negative poles of the cable clearly, no-load operation is prohibited.
- Output side cable wiring: Connect the ground wire to the PE mark on the outside of the casing, the cable cross-sectional area ≥35mm², suitable for M8x20 combination screws; pass the DC output cable into the junction box from the bottom, remove the M12 nut with an extended sleeve, crimp the power terminal and lock it with a torque of 30N.M.
- PV input cable wiring: First strip the cable and crimp MC4 male and female terminals (distinguish positive and negative poles), then connect the positive and negative poles of the cable to the PV+/PV- terminals of the MPPT controller correspondingly.
- RS485 communication cable wiring: The bottom of the cabinet is equipped with a COM1 485 interface, supporting single/multi-unit networking, wiring according to the definition of 485_A (differential +), GND (signal ground), 485_B (differential -); pass the cable into the waterproof lock head, crimp the tube terminal and insert it into the corresponding port, multiple units are connected in series.
4. Cable Selection Requirements
