Transforming every low-voltage transformer area from a load terminal into a value center.
Low-voltage distribution transformer areas are undergoing a source-load reformation: massive distributed PV, EV chargers, and highly fluctuating industrial loads are pushing traditional transformers beyond their design limits. Reverse power flow, over-voltage, three-phase unbalance, and costly transformer upgrades are today’s daily reality.
Imax Power Rock-Solid (PS-ESS) Transformer-Level ESS is engineered precisely for this scenario – an All-in-One liquid-cooled plug-and-play solution designed for 0.4 kV low-voltage transformer areas. With a modular and intelligent architecture, it resolves power quality issues while unlocking new revenue streams for the distribution grid operator or commercial user.
Battery PACK, BMS, PCS, EMS, liquid cooling unit, and fire protection – all housed in a single outdoor cabinet. Footprint ≤ 1.3 m². Supports up to 10 cabinets in parallel (261 kWh to 2610 kWh elastic scaling).
Battery-side liquid cooling plus PCS intelligent air cooling; cell temperature difference ≤ 5°C. Rated cycle life of 6,000 cycles (25°C, 0.5P). Whole-cabinet IP55, battery PACK IP67 – dust and condensation proof.
PACK-level (temperature / CO) plus compartment-level 5-in-1 detector (temperature / smoke / CO / H2 / VOC). Perfluorohexanone precision injection with water-based fire-extinguishing interface reserved for early detection and suppression.
Peak shaving, demand management, anti-reverse-flow, load tracking, dynamic capacity expansion, and three-phase unbalance compensation. 24/7 cloud remote O&M with proactive fault alerts pushed to your dashboard.
Dual-mode grid-tie / off-grid operation with switch-over time < 20 ms. In off-grid mode, the unit operates as a voltage source to provide uninterrupted backup power for critical loads (UPS-level capability).
Operating temperature -20°C to +50°C. Corrosion resistance class C4-M. Rated altitude ≤ 2,000 m (derated up to 4,000 m). Noise < 70 dB – suitable for commercial and residential areas.

PACK-level perfluorohexanone suppression triggers within seconds upon temperature or CO detection. Compartment-level detectors monitor smoke, H2 and VOC in parallel, ensuring cascading protection at multiple levels.
Multi-stage DC/AC over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage, over-frequency, under-frequency and anti-islanding protection, in full compliance with IEC 61000 / GB/T 19064 standards. PCS implements zero-voltage ride-through (ZVRT) capability.
IP55 cabinet ingress protection with corrosion resistance C4-M. IP67 at PACK level. Operating temperature -20°C to +50°C. Designed to sustain continuous operation in coastal, desert, and high-humidity industrial environments.
Every cell voltage and temperature, every cluster current, every PCS node – continuously monitored. AI-driven anomaly detection pushes proactive alerts to the cloud dashboard 24/7 before issues degrade into faults.
When transformer loading exceeds 85%, the storage system automatically discharges, effectively extending transformer capacity without expensive hardware upgrades, and deferring capital expenditure.
Charge batteries during daytime low-tariff hours, discharge during evening peak hours. Zero-power export to upstream grid while maximizing distributed PV self-consumption rate.
Per-phase power compensation dynamically stabilizes phase voltages, reduces line losses, and extends transformer service life – particularly valuable for asymmetric commercial loads.
Switches to off-grid mode in less than 20 ms upon grid failure, ensuring continuous power to critical loads such as data centers, industrial control rooms, and hospital equipment.
Buy low – Sell high – automatically arbitrages along tariff gradients while monitoring demand charges in real time, delivering dual savings under two-part electricity pricing schemes.
A: Yes. The cabinet ships as a pre-wired, pre-tested, pre-commissioned unit. On site, the customer only needs to provide the foundation / concrete base, AC grid connection (400 V three-phase + N + PE), and an Ethernet / 4G link for EMS cloud monitoring. The unit is typically operational within 4-8 hours after mechanical placement and electrical connection.
A: Up to 10 cabinets can be paralleled on the AC side for a total of 1,250 kW / 2,610 kWh. Each cabinet has its own independent PCS and BMS, so AC-bus parallelism avoids circulating-current issues and enables flexible, incremental deployment across multiple transformer areas.
A: The Rock-Solid system implements PACK-level perfluorohexanone suppression combined with compartment-level multi-sensor detection (temperature, smoke, CO, H2, VOC). The LFP cells are certified in accordance with IEC 62619 / GB 38031 (UL 9540A on request). A water-based fire-extinguishing interface is reserved at the cabinet level for integration into building-level fire systems.
A: Yes. The cabinet is rated IP55 and corrosion class C4-M, specifically designed for coastal and heavy-industrial environments. The battery PACK itself reaches IP67. Surface coatings and structural materials have been selected against salt-spray and sulfur-dioxide corrosion.
A: Every Rock-Solid cabinet ships with a built-in EMS controller connected to Imax Power’s cloud O&M platform (MQTT / Modbus TCP). Customers receive a dedicated dashboard showing cell-level voltage / temperature, cluster SOC / SOH, PCS power flow, alarms, and analytics – 24/7. Proactive alerts are pushed by email / SMS / WhatsApp. On-site preventive maintenance is typically recommended every 12 months.
A: Depending on local tariff structures, PV feed-in conditions, and demand-charge levels, typical IRR ranges from 15% to 25%, with payback usually between 4 and 6 years. Peak-valley arbitrage, demand charge reduction, transformer-upgrade deferral, and potential demand-response or VPP revenue stack together meaningfully. Contact us for a site-specific simulation.
