The Imax Power Sunlight Series is engineered exactly for these scenarios — integrating PCS, MPPT, EMS and STS into one cabinet, with 10 ms grid/off-grid switch-over and full diesel-hybrid grid-forming capability, transforming unreliable utility feeders or isolated power sources into stable, economical and green microgrids.
Active switching at 0 ms, passive switching < 10 ms. Critical loads — data centers, hospitals, communication towers — stay online through grid anomalies.
Supports intelligent coupling with diesel generators. Grid-forming inverters independently establish voltage and frequency in weak-grid or no-grid environments. PV and storage serve the load first; diesel only kicks in when truly needed.
Up to 4 independent MPPT channels (2 for the 250 kW model, 4 for the 500 kW model), matching various orientations and shading conditions. Max input current 200 A per channel, PV power up to 120 kW per string.

A: A grid-following inverter needs an existing AC voltage source (the grid or a genset) to synchronize with. A grid-forming inverter, by contrast, actively creates its own AC voltage and frequency reference — exactly what off-grid and weak-grid scenarios require. Sunlight Series can start, stabilize and run a microgrid on its own without any diesel generator online.
A: The DC input range is 680–950 V — compatible with most LiFePO4 (LFP) high-voltage battery clusters and some flow battery systems. Existing battery banks at matching voltage can directly connect; for different voltages, an additional DC/DC conversion stage is available as a project-level option. Battery BMS must support CAN / RS485 for SOC and protection communication.
A: The EMS continuously compares solar forecast, battery SOC, present load and tariff signals. PV + storage serve the load as long as battery SOC remains above the configurable threshold (e.g., 25%). When SOC drops or load surges, the EMS soft-starts the diesel generator to take over or supplement — never running at low-load inefficiently. Typical diesel operating hours are cut by 50%–70% vs. standalone operation.
