Project

1.5MW Energy Storage System project meet 3 sets 480KW motors load in African Mines

I. Project Background and Pain Points
The current situation of mine energy in Africa:

1)Relying on diesel generators for power supply, fuel costs account for 30% to 50% of the total mining costs

2)The power supply from the power Grid is unstable, with an average annual power outage duration exceeding 200 hours (such as in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zambia).

3)It has a high carbon emission intensity and face high pressure from international ESG reviews.

2.Transformation opportunities

The cost of lithium batteries has dropped by 89% over the past decade (with an average price of $139/kWh in 2023).

International carbon financial policy support (such as the African Carbon Exchange)

3. Energy storage technology solution

The customer’s project requires the operation of 3 sets 480KW motors load.

For each 480KW motor load, the corresponding system needs 3 sets of energy storage cabinets. Here list the system topology diagram as follows:

System configuration

Item Specification QTY Remarks
750kW PCS 380Vac, 50/60HZ, PFC:-0.99~0.99,  three-phase four-wire 6 Use 6units 125kW PCS to get 750kW
